Space Center Houston

Space Center in Houston is the official visitor center of NASA’s Johnson Space Center and is a must-see attraction in Houston, especially for space lovers of all ages!

Space Center Houston is the only place in the world where visitors can see astronauts train for missions, land a shuttle, touch a (real!) moon rock, and see more than 400 space artifacts! There’s also a Kids Space Place to engage and encourage younger visitors with fun interactive displays!

Admission to the Space Center varies from $29.95 to $54.95 for adults and 24.95 to 49.95 for children depending on options. Children 3 and under are Free. You can also upgrade to a VIP tour or enhance your experience with Breakfast with an astronaut at an additional cost. General admission is included in the Houston CityPass and is great for tourists visiting Houston and are planning to see a few different sights.

Houston Zoo

Located in Hermann Park, Houston Zoo spans 55 acres and is home to over 6,000 animals from 900 species!

There’s an array of educational programs and interactive exhibits like the Children’s Zoo, where kids can feed giraffes or watch sea lions swim! There’s also a water play park, which is perfect for kids to cool off on those hot summer days!

Admission to the Houston varies depending on demand, but pricing starts around $30 per adult. The Houston Zoo does offer a few discounts + is free the first Tuesday of every month (check calendar for dates because it can vary depending on holiday schedule.)

Admission to the Houston Zoo is also included in the Houston CityPass if you decide to purchase the tourist pass for your vacation.

Children’s Museum Houston

Consistently rated as one of the top children’s museums in the country, Children’s Museum Houston is a great visit for young kids!

Exhibits like Kidtropolis, a city run by kids, and EcoStation, an outdoor environmental exhibit, provide hands-on learning experiences that engage children’s curiosity and creativity.

Admission is $16 for visitors age 1 and up. Free admission is available to everyone every Thursday night from 5-8pm as well as those with a TANF, WIC or SNAP. Infants are free. Admission is free with the Houston CityPass as well as through the ASTC passport program.

Discovery Green

This 12-acre park in downtown Houston offers a lot of special events, playgrounds, an interactive water fountain, public art, and more! There’s always something fun happening at Discovery Green and a great way to spend an afternoon– for free!

Downtown Aquarium

An underwater adventure awaits at the Downtown Aquarium, where you can explore over 500 species of marine life with an array of fun exhibits!

The aquarium also features a shark voyage, a Ferris wheel, aquatic carousel and much more!

You can purchase an all-day adventure pass that includes both aquarium admission and all-limited rides and games for $24.99 for adults and $22.99 for children under 42 inches. You can also just buy general admission tickets for the aquarium exhibits only for $15.99 and add on any rides individually. Admission is also included in the Houston CityPass.

The Health Museum

The Health Museum aims to foster curiosity about the human body, health and medical science.

There’s also plenty of hands on exhibits that can engage curious little minds in fun ways to learn about the human body!

Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids ages 3-12. The museum is also FREE on Thursdays from 2-7pm.

Kemah Boardwalk

Head down to shores of Galveston Bay to the Kemah Boardwalk where there’s so many different options! Enjoying dining by the water, amusement rides, stingray reef, shopping, special events, and much more! There’s so much to do on the Kemah Boardwalk and it’s great for a variety of different ages!

You can purchase all-you-can ride pass for $22.99 if you want to take advantage of the amusement rides, but the ride pass is also included with the Houston CityPass.
